The 5th Workshop on Molecular Communications will be held in Tampere, Finland,
on May, 18th-20th, 2020. On this page you
will find further information about Tampere, how to get there, the workshop

Tampere is the second most populous city in Finland after Helsinki and it is located in the region of Pirkanmaa.
It is conveniently positioned between the two lakes Nasijärvi and Pyhäjärvi, which historically made it possibile to
push the industrial development of the area.
It is an very lively city with all its theaters, the concert hall Tampere Talo, its restaurants and pubs and plenty of open air activities.
During this time of the year, the sun rises at about 4am and sets at 10pm, with a total of 18 hours of sunlight to enjoy the beautiful nature.
Tampere is also known as the Sauna Capital of the World with more than 30 public saunas, to relax after the conference and to enjoy the city like a real Finn!

The Tampere airport is just 30 minutes away from the city centre.
Alternatively, participants may want to fly to Helsinki for which bus and train connections exist to Tampere. In order to book trains, use the webpage of the Finnish train service (VR) or Matkahuolto for buses.
Transportation in Tampere
When arriving in Tampere train station, you will be 10 minutes walking from the main square Keskustori and in walking distance to all the city centre. However, from the train station you can take a taxi (the taxi stop is in front of the main entrance) or a bus (several lines stops nearby the station).
Bus lines (1,8 and 28) to the Arvo campus of the University (stop Perhetukikeskus).
The official public transporation app is called Nysse and selecting Tampere region provides official routes and timetables for the public transport. You can buy ticket directly on board with cash or from your smartphone with the Nysse Mobile App.
